Ants are among the most prevalent pests in households. They are also found in restaurants, hospitals, offices, warehouses, and other buildings where they can find food and water. Ants often become a nuisance when they enter our homes searching for food and can cause severe structural damage when they burrow through decaying wood to nest, a common behavior of carpenter ant. Please select the link above to find the ant that is a nuisance to you.

Bed bugs are blood-seeking insects known for infesting areas where people and animals sleep, and are a growing problem in North America, particularly in areas with large or transient human populations, such as apartment buildings, hotels, cruise ships and dormitories. Their bites cause itchy red welts, skin infections and allergic reactions as a result of the saliva they inject when they feed. Select the link above to find more about Bed Bugs.

Stinging insects frighten nearly everyone. Even though bees and wasps rarely sting, most people feel threatened by their presence.  Getting stung is a painful experience and can even be fatal for those few highly allergic individuals. Before taking any action, you should try to identify the type of bee or wasp on your property, so that the correct action can be taken to remove them.  Select the link above to identify the bee\wasp on your property.

Of the great number of insects in the world nearly half are beetles. Unlike other insects, beetles have a pair of leathery protective wings called elytra that cover their membranous flight wings. During flight, the elytra are spread apart and the two flight wings are unfolded and extended. Beetles come in a variety of shapes and colors. Beetles range in size from less than a millimeter to over a few inches long. Select the link above to identify the Beetle(s) on your property.

Cockroaches can enter through small cracks and crevices, vents, pipe, grocery bags or firewood. They are an unsanitary nuisance pest and can contaminate food. It is important that once you start pest treatment for cockroaches, you must rid of their food and water source to assist in elimination from your property.

Crickets will accidentally invade homes, but only rarely will they reproduce there. The usual point of entry is through open or poorly fitted doors and cracks in doors, windows, foundations, or siding. Crickets prefer to live in the dark; protected behind or under objects and in cracks or crevices. They generally prefer cool, damp and dark habitats. They are easily treated for indoors and out.

Fleas are usually found in the homes with pets but they can also be a problem for new homeowners that move into previously infested homes and apartments. Not all ticks carry Lyme disease. It’s important to be able to identify the species of tick you encounter as they all come with their own risks. Select the link above for additional information on Fleas and Ticks.

Pest moths typically fall into one of two categories depending on their preferred food source: fabric or stored products. Fabric moths tend to target clothing stores, museums, and coat closets, attics, and furniture in homes, while stored product moths feed on or lay eggs in grains, dried fruits, cereals, and similar foodstuffs. Find out more by selecting the link above.

Silverfish tend to feed on paper items, glue, clothing and food items, such as flour and rolled oats. They can live up to a year without food, but require a high humidity environment. They move fast and are typically nocturnal. Silverfish have a tendency to travel long distances while looking for food which can make it difficult to locate the infestation source.

About 3,000 species of spiders are found in the United States. Spiders rarely bite people, and most species found in the world are harmless. However, some people may be allergic to a spider’s bite, and a few species of spiders are known to produce bites that may have serious medical implications for humans. Find out what species of spider is invading your property by selecting the link above.

There are over 2,700 known species of termites throughout the world. Termites are social insects that live in colonies where populations can reach more than one million. A termite colony consists of several structurally differentiated forms living together as castes (including reproductives, soldiers, and workers) with different functions in the colony community life.
